About the Department


The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial prosthodontics was founded and established in the collage of dentistry at King Abdulaziz University as an independent department due to its importance and involvement in the educational curriculum didactically and clinically of different school grades. Courses that are given by the departments include fixed, removable, geriatric and implant prosthodontics. The main goals of the department are education and training of predoctoral and postdoctoral students in the diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment and maintenance of damaged dentition and restore them to their optimum function, esthetics and health based on best available evidence. The department participates in teaching predoctoral (4th, 5th and 6th year students) and postgraduate prosthodontics Saudi Board program. Also, the department is currently working on establishing a master of science in prosthodontics program as a step forward to provide the resident with a wide range of combining clinical, didactic, and research experiences.
